About Me

Melisa Alaba is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Life Coach. Melisa is a graduate of Roosevelt University, Chicago, with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Psychology. Melisa empowers her clients to take control of their destiny. With over 12 years experience as a Counselor and Coach, Melisa has assisted hundreds of clients in reaching their goals and fulfilling their dreams. Melisa has been affectionately called “The Vision Coach” because she has assisted many clients in reclaiming and discovering their vision and purpose.

Melisa is an interactive, mindful cognitive behavioral coach. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. Melisa provides a Christian perspective in her counseling/coaching approach. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, Melisa works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

In addition to being a prominet Coach and Counselor, Melisa has presented at National conferences and to general audiences speaking on topics of Empowerment, Personal development, Pursuing Purpose, Optimal Parenting, Stress management and Meditation. Since 2004, Melisa has lecturer at Joliet Junior College, Morton college and The University of Phoenix. Melisa is one of the founders of the Illinois Development Therapy Association which began in 2006. Mrs. Alaba is also the former director of Meli Development Center where she provided community counseling for children, individuals and families.

Melisa is a wife, mother and friend. In her free time she enjoys nature walks, practicing meditation and reading.
